My name is Marina. From a young age, I have been fascinated by famous paintings on the stamps I collected. I was born in Armenia and raised in Ukraine. I spent summers in Russia's Black Sea. Throughout my life, I found my passion in the arts and flowers. In 1992, San Diego, CA, became my favorite place on earth to live. Since then, it has been my home for my husband and 3 children. I also lived in Waterloo, Belgium, for five years for my husband's work. In Belgium, I was the art director in the American Women's Club of Brussels. Since 2003, I have been teaching elementary school children in San Diego about famous artists' paintings and inspiring them to create their own. Their encouragement led me to study the artists firsthand all over the world. I have had many incredible adventures. Now I am ready to share all of that passion with your children.
My passion for Ikebana started over 25 years ago in Baloboa Park with an Ikebana International exhibition. While in Belgium, I started studying Sogetsu School of Ikebana. My knowledge has flourished with the help of four Japanese sinseis. My experience has grown to 20 years of education. I have a Jonin Sanyo degree. I have had many exhibitions at Art Alive for 10 years and numerous Tokonoma displays at the Japanese Garden in Balboa Park. My Ikebana demonstrations have been in various Southern California libraries.
